Bags ‘O Food Initiative

August 7, 2024 by Lindsay Moss

Bags ‘O Food

The Bags ‘o Food Project is an on-going program to pack and distribute bags of food to people on the streets requesting help.  Packing dates are usually the second Sunday of the month, immediately following the worship service.  You are invited to spend 30 minutes in the small conference room, located in the administrative hallway, packing food into gallon bags. The packed bags will be made available for church members to keep in their cars to distribute to anyone asking for money or food.

How you can participate:

Pack bags on the second Sunday of the month following the 10:30 worship service.

Donate food.  Select from the list of appropriate foods at the end of this article.

Write notes of encouragement and/or Scripture passages to be included in the bags.

Pick up the packages of food from the table in the lobby and give to those in need.

Pray for those who need this kind of assistance.

Questions?  Contact Nancy Moore, Dan Joyce, Sally Joyce, Daryl Moore, Bill Womack, or Ellen Womack.

Food for the bags:

Pouches of plain applesauce

Tuna in foil packets

Chicken in foil packers

Individual peanut butter packs

Fruit snacks

Soft granola bars

Nutri Grain fruit bars

Individually wrapped Goldfish, Cheez It, or chips

Peanut butter crackers

Cheese crackers

Small bottles of water

Prayer Board is Back

June 6, 2023 by Lindsay Moss

By June, the Prayer Board in the hallway to the chapel will be back in use!

Births, deaths, baptisms, and current hospitalizations will be noted here for up to 4 weeks. The Thursday Prayer Circle will be maintaining the board. Prayer requests are to be sent to [email protected]. Please remember, the person being prayed for should give permission to be on the Prayer Board or in the Prayer Guide. The more comprehensive Prayer Guide will continue to be available in print.

It is our hope that with the Prayer Board’s visibility to those coming through our front door, all who desire can join in our calling to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17).
