Saint Luke’s choice to become a part of the One Lamb Initiative indicates that we are a faith community striving to provide education, connection, and support for mental wellness within our church family and among our neighbors.
The One Lamb Initiative started in 2021 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. Due to the great impact made during that first year, the PRUMC team decided to help start mental wellness initiatives at other churches, and we excited to count ourselves as one. www.1lamb.org will post events and activities across many faith communities in the area, so check both this page and that page often.

Tips for Finding a Therapist
- Access Psychology Today
- Search for providers by zip code. Some prefer a therapist neartheir work or school, others near their home. Consider thelocation that’s best for you.
- Use filters to find a therapist who takes your insurance, orspecializes in a specific area of concern.
- Read the bios of therapists to see which resonate with you.Identify 2-3 therapists whom you think would be a fit andschedule an initial consult with each.
- During the consult, tune into how you feel in the presence ofthe therapist. The goal is to feel heard and safe during thesession. It takes time to build trust, but observe whether this isa person you could be open and honest with over time.
- If possible, schedule weekly sessions to build a rapport with thetherapist. After 4-6 weeks, consider adjusting the frequency ofsessions based on personal needs.
