Endowment Fund

Endowment Fund Performance

Assets of Saint Luke’s Endowment Fund rose from $946,000 at the end of 2023 to $1,040,000 (+$94,000/9.9%) as of 12/31/2024. The fund received $35,867 in donations and distributed $56,000 to the church’s operating budget. Since 2017, when the Endowment Fund began distributing earnings to the Annual Operating Budget and for major building repairs, $576,000 has been contributed to support Saint Luke’s. All of this is from earnings, never touching contribution gifts to the fund.

The LiveForward.GiveForward initiative kicked off in 2023 to create greater awareness of Saint Luke’s Endowment Fund. Biblically based on Jesus’ Parable of the Mustard Seed, the initiative invites the congregation to consider the many ways in which a gift to the Endowment Fund can be our response to God’s astonishing grace in its fullest measure for generations to come, thus ensuring Saint Luke’s ability to continue to fulfill its mission to love God, love each other, and love our neighbors near and far. This first phase of the initiative asks members of the church family to consider “planting a mustard seed” in a way that does not involve a financial outlay today, by making a bequest (or other legacy gift) in your will, which will be transferred to the Endowment Fund out of your estate. As of December 31, 2024, eleven (11) members have advised that they have included Saint Luke’ Endowment Fund in a bequest or otherwise as a beneficiary to their estate.

Jesus said to his disciples: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13: 31-32

Even the smallest of contribution to Saint Luke’s Endowment Fund, when planted and nurtured, will grow like a mustard seed to support Saint Luke’s operation and mission now and for future generations to come. If you are ready to “plant some seeds” or you would like more information, please contact the chair of the committee here.

Please Remember:

As you are planning for a bequest, be sure to designate Saint Luke’s Endowment Fund as the recipient of your legacy donation.
