“The Bible and Poverty” Online CourseSaint Luke’s Invited to be Candler’s Pilot Partner Ryan Bonfiglio, assistant professor at the Emory Candler School of Theology and Director of The Candler Foundry, has invited Saint Luke’s to be Candler’s exclusive pilot partner for an online professor-led course in which the students are seminarians and community congregation members. The course he is offering, “The Bible and Poverty,” is an important subject which is, of course, right in the Saint Luke’s wheelhouse of education and outreach. This is an opportunity to learn deeply about the biblical foundations underneath our church’s core identity.
For some great insight about this opportunity and to hear directly from Ryan Bonfiglio, who led our Saint Luke’s Sunday School online class on 7/19, check out this video. Password for the video is 7cbMdh^*
Logistics of the class are these:
- 12 lecture/discussions on Thursdays 6:30-8:30 pm from 8/27 to 11/12.
- It’s basically a chance to audit a really interesting class, with no readings or assignments required of community participants.
- $125 per participant, which seminarians can point out is a crazy good price for this kind of learning. However, money should not be an obstacle to participation, and if it is, they will happily give full scholarships to anyone who needs one.
