The 15th Annual Tartan Trot, scheduled for Feb. 20, 2021, will be held this year entirely as a Virtual event. Based on the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we received communication that the City of Dunwoody is not issuing permits for any special events through March 31, 2021. While we are sad not to be able to welcome all those people through our doors this year, know that we have planned for this possibility and look forward to a virtual gathering of the Tartan Trot community this year in a variety of ways, which we will share with you in the coming days. For now, we hope this Q&A is helpful.
Where do I find registration and race information?
All the registration information can be found at www.TartanTrot.com. Sponsors can still use their codes to register for the race. If you’d like a shirt but don’t want to run you can register as a phantom runner.
I am usually a volunteer, can I still get a shirt?
Yes, we are working on a way for you to order a shirt. Look for links in future highlights or email TJ McGoldrick ([email protected]). Because we won’t have the runners to help supplement the cost of the volunteers, past volunteers may order shirts for $15. Let us know if this cost is a concern for you.
What impact will a fully virtual have on all our awesome outreach work?
Short answer: None. Through the diligent work of the Staff, Finance Committee, and Outreach Committee, we are in good shape to support all our outreach work. We anticipate a full schedule of summer trips and mission projects and have planned accordingly. Your faithful support last year and this year helps us be in such good shape!
Can I or my business still sponsor the race?
Yes, please click here to do so. We are working on ways we can use our network of thousands of past runners to help our business partners who want to sponsor. Please reach out to Rebecca Strickland ([email protected]) for more or to hear how we might be able to work together.
Does this mean that my family and friends in other parts of the country and world can participate?
Yes! One of the exciting things about a virtual race is that people from around the globe can participate. Please make sure to share Tartan Trot information with your friends and family through social media and other communications.
We can’t thank you all enough for your continued support of this event. Lives are changed because of what we do as a congregation. You are part of something big here.
