UPDATED GATHERING PROTOCOLS (as of Feb. 19, 2022):
It is hopeful that the landscape of COVID spread and threat is changing, in many places rapidly, and there is assurance and confidence to be derived from it. Therefore, in keeping with the Session’s guidance for a careful-but-practical approach to gathering, the following updates to our gathering will ensue:
- Starting this weekend of Feb. 19-20, 2022, for all church indoor activity including worship, we will return to the practice of those fully vaccinated (incl. booster if eligible) being able to unmask once seated and socially distant.
- congregational singing will resume, with masks
- children coming forward for Tell Us Our Story (TUOS) will resume, with masks (see full announcement about children gathering below).
- meals and coffee fellowship may resume, where social distance can be maintained.
Going forward, we anticipate forthcoming guidance from the CDC about gathering practices tied to spread/threat levels, which may recommend different or fewer restrictions. We will be informed by that authoritative guidance in adapting our own practices, mindful of the various comfort levels in our community as we live into updated guidelines together.
Thanks for your patience, vigilance, and understanding as we continually interpret and adapt to keep gathering at Saint Luke’s safe and meaningful. We can be grateful and assured that our omicron-surge practices helped keep Saint Luke’s activities transmission-free as the threat rose. We look forward to what seems to be lining up as better days ahead.
