Join us June 9-11 for a Mission trip to Thornwell Children’s Home. Thornwell has asked us to serve at their annual end-of-school-year Pig Pickin’ celebration. This entails games for the kids, cooking, serving meals, and other projects around the campus. This is great trip for adults and kids. If interested, please fill out this form or contact Saint Luke’s member Christine Crutchfield at [email protected].
April 9: Church Breakfast
Join us for our April Church Breakfast on Saturday, April 9 at 8 am! This event will feature a presentation by Saint Luke’s member, Rebecca Thomas, who will discuss her work with CARE, a non profit that works around the globe with a focus on saving lives, defeating poverty and achieving social justice. CARE works in over 100 countries, reaching more than 90 million people through 1,300 projects, and is actively responding to the Ukraine crisis and helping the people of Ukraine.
Rebecca spends the majority of her time working on a partnership with The PepsiCo Foundation called She Feeds the World, which empowers small-scale women farmers and their families in Uganda, Egypt, Peru, Thailand, and Vietnam. She recently went on a site visit to meet program participants in Uganda and is excited to tell stories of great transformation. Considering the current state of world conditions, this will sure to be a very informative discussion! For further information CARE, visit their web site, https://www.care.org/
This event is hosted by the Men of Saint Luke’s, but ALL members and friends of Saint Luke’s are invited! In order for our kitchen crew to prepare enough food for all, please confirm your attendance at [email protected]. Questions? Contact Saint Luke’s member Tom Loftis.
