Never underestimate the power of spending time with a teenager.
In fact, aside from parents, trusted adults in the lives of teens are the number one influence on teenagers (even more so than their friends) Volunteering with youth ministry is a great time and rewarding. Teens ask hard questions, have a ton of energy, and are generally a good time to be around.
On a week-to-week basis there are three time slots through out the school year:
1. Sunday Morning Sunday School: help be in a middle school or high school class. You won’t have to teach much and we make sure curriculum is provided and you are all set.
2. Sunday Evening Youth Group: we need adults who are willing to hang out with middle schoolers from 3:30-5:00 and/or high schoolers from 5:00-6:30. Middle school meets at the church and high school meets at someone’s house.
3. Wednesday nights: come hang with us during low-key rest in the middle of the week.
During the summers we head out on mission trips and conferences. We always need as many adults as we can take for these trips. We pay the way for adults to come with us.
All adults who work with youth will be trained and screened via a background check.
